Have you ever seen a fair person with rosy pink cheeks, and took this pinkness as a natural blush? Then, it might be just your illusion. As it is not the natural rosy blush, but a skin disorder, called Rosacea. It is a chronic skin problem that causes facial redness accompanied by pimples. Swelling of blood vessels beneath the skin may cause this disorder. There are no such known causes of Rosacea, other than certain foods and excessive temperature. It generally arises on the face and nose.

So, have a look at some home remedies to naturally cure and get rid of this awful skin problem.


#1 Chamomile Cold Compress

Take some chamomile tea bags or put a handful of pure chamomile into 3-4 cups of boiling water for ten minutes. Let it cool and refrigerate for some time. Apply it on the affected part by dipping a cotton cloth into the cold mixture, whenever you are hit by Rosacea. Chamomile has excellent soothing properties. It’s a miraculous home remedy for reducing the redness of the skin.

Note- You should avoid using Chamomile, if you are allergic to flowers, like daisies, ragweed and marigold.

#2 Camphor Oil

Wash your face, and then apply camphor oil on the affected part of your skin. Camphor has soothing, antimicrobial and analgesic properties, and it quickly gets absorbed into the skin.

Note- Be careful if you have sensitive skin, as camphor oil may also cause irritation on your skin.

#3 Green Tea

Apply a cold compress of green tea on the red areas of your skin. Green tea is an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-carcinogenic agent that greatly help in reducing the redness of the skin, caused due to Rosacea.

#4 Apple Mask

Mash a fresh apple and mask it on the areas, affected by Rosacea. Leave it for 10-15 minutes. Let it dry, and then, wash it off with cool water. Use it every day in order to get quick results.

#5 Cucumber Mask

Make a paste of fresh cucumber and apply it all over the face. Leave it for around half an hour. Then, rinse it off with cool water. Continuous use for about a month will help in getting rid of the problem, effectively. Cucumber is excellent for skin and helps in naturally tightening and cleansing of your facial skin.

#6 Flaxseed Oil

Take one teaspoon of flaxseed oil at least thrice a day. It contains fatty acids which reduces the inflammation and redness, caused due to Rosacea.

#7 Red Clover

One of the safest and the most natural ways to quickly get rid of Rosacea is red clover. Drink red clover tea at least twice a day in order to cure this skin disorder.

#8 Oatmeal Scrub

Using oatmeal is another effective way to cure the problem. Take some water in a cup and put 2 tablespoons of oatmeal in it. Now, gently scrub it on the affected areas of your skin. Oatmeal helps in reducing the redness, while soothing the skin.

#9 Feverfew
Apply a feverfew-based skin cream on Rosacea affected skin. Extract of feverfew is also a good option as it has anti-inflammatory properties, which is effective in removing redness on the skin.

Note 1) – Avoid using feverfew during pregnancy or while nursing, as it can also cause side-effects, such as canker sores, nausea, oral irritation or swelling, bloating and even upset stomach.

2) – After using it over a week, decrease its use gradually. Remember, sudden cessation may result in joint pain, fatigue, headache, muscle stiffness, and anxiety.

#10 Lavender Oil

Soak a cotton ball in lavender oil and gently massage it on the affected part. Lavender has great anti-inflammatory, as well as antiseptic properties, but be careful while using as it can also cause allergy.

Note 1) – Check if your skin exhibits allergic reaction by putting a very small amount of lavender oil on your face. Don’t use, if it causes redness on your skin.

2) – In case of breast-feeding or pregnancy, don’t consume lavender.
